By popular demand, television and movie legend William Shatner will bring his one man show SHATNER'S WORLD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT to the Center. The 90-minute show will take audiences on a voyage through Shatner's life and career, from Shakespearean stage actor to internationally known icon and raconteur, known as much for his unique persona as for his expansive body of work on television and film.

2013 is the centennial of Benjamin Britten's birth, and a highlight of this program is sure to be String Quartet #3 by the British composer, one of the central figures of 20th century music. "We enjoy playing Schubert's late quartets with Benjamin Britten's final quartet. Both works are influenced by the voice; Schubert's drawing on the song Gretchen am Spinnrade while Britten quotes from his opera Death in Venice. Both works explore the power of music to transcend life's tribulations. Haydn invented the string quartet with his extraordinary innovations of voicing, dialogue and form. His string quartets are often programmed at the beginning of the concert where they too easily become a warm-up for both The Players and the audience. This program finishes with one of the Opus 76s, taking the string quartet genre back to its very beginnings." Takacs Quartet

This star-making turn began a Broadway streak that would include Flower Drum Song and Les Miserables, including the epic 25th Anniversary celebration. Lea is known to a younger generation as the singing voice of Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin and the lead in Mulan.

Finding his way through life changes in the pre-Match.com era, Chapter Two is Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical comedy about George, a middle-aged writer who is trying to deal with life after his wife's untimely death. His brother Leo, a born matchmaker, is determined to help George get out of his emotional tailspin by setting him up on a series of unsuccessful dates. Eventually, Leo comes up with Jennie Malone, and she actually turns out to be a winner. Be a front row witness to George's witty and all too recognizable journey of contradictory impulses between embracing a new and exciting future with Jennie or remaining faithful to the loving memory of his past.

This powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness that is currently playing to packed houses in London and New York.. At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets created by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company, that bring to live breathing, galloping, charging horses strong enough for men to ride.
